About

Jade Kizer Jr is a filmmaker, 2D animator, and overall collaboration-enjoyer from northern Colorado. A recent graduate of the Kansas City Art Institute's animation program, Jade is excited to dive headfirst into the professional world.

Character animation is Jade’s bread and butter. During their time at art school, Jade created six character-focused shorts by themself. That isn’t to say Jade lacks collaborative experience. Directing a team of artists is one of their strong suits. Jade led the short film “Unearthing Amanda”, organized graphics creation for Regnier Institute's Bloch Talks event, and were creative director for an episode of the KC Royals’ animated edutainment series. For three years, Jade also competed in the international 24 HOURS Animation Contest, placing in the top 50 teams for 2023 and 2025.

The other side of Jade’s practice is fabrication. In 2024, Jade competed in Planet Comicon KC’s cosplay contest, winning a judge’s choice award for their mixed media costume. Jade loves experimenting with new mediums and pushing how accurately they can bring a digital concept into three-dimensional reality.
